Jade Hovine Preparing for the 2026 Olympics with Sports Massage in Nice
Figure skating demands complete physical preparation that goes far beyond the hours spent on the ice.

Jade Hovine: An Athlete from Nice on the Road to the 2026 Olympic Games
Jade Hovine represents Belgium in figure skating and has made Nice her training base for the past two years. A second-year Law student at Université Côte d'Azur, she trains with Cédric Tour and Rodolphe Maréchal at the ice rinks in Nice.
Our collaboration began naturally. From the very first massage session, we hit it off right away. Jade is a truly lovely person, with a positive energy that makes working together very pleasant. She was happy with my approach to sports massage, and I offered her regular follow-up sessions to support her preparation.
Since then, I have been doing my best to meet her specific needs as a figure skater. She is happy with this support and talks about it in the video you can watch on this page. For my part, I am glad to be able to help her with massage in her preparation for the Olympic qualifiers in Beijing, scheduled for 18 to 21 September 2025.
She is a wonderful person, deeply positive, and I know she will go far, in figure skating as well as in life. Thank you so much, Jade, for this collaboration.
Sports Massage and Figure Skating: A Targeted Approach
Figure skating puts intense demands on the posterior chain. Jumps, landings, held positions and repeated pushes require constant work from the calves, hamstrings, glutes and lower back. In my sports massage practice in Nice, I pay particular attention to this area in every athlete who uses their legs a lot, and Jade is no exception.
My approach is based on listening. When an athlete asks me to work specifically on the lower back, I focus on the lower back. When I am given free rein, I have free rein to identify and treat the areas that need it. This flexibility lets me adapt each session to the real needs of the moment.
In the video you can watch on this page, I show how I work on Jade's posterior chain. You will notice that my sports massage practice is a targeted act. When I focus on an area, I don't need to move much. I take the area apart in depth; I am not performing a massage dance.
This focus on precise areas makes it possible to get real results. For a skater like Jade, each session helps maintain mobility, release the tension built up during training, and prepare the body for the next sessions on the ice.
